Whoever feels like they could benefit! I especially work with queer-identifying individuals, but I’m generous with spreading queer magic to anyone who wants some. I’m available to work with people located anywhere in the world by way of virtual sessions.

I know that sometimes what you are wanting to work towards may still be unclear or unconscious. You may simply feel restless or dissatisfied with your life, so we will start with whatever feels important to you and see where it takes us. My goal is never to push you to anything and I am very collaborative in my work with clients. The most important thing I can cultivate is trust-a trusting environment so that you can learn to more fully trust your own wisdom.

I take a humanistic approach to coaching, focusing on inherent goodness and capacity for growth. I assume no pathology. I will not diagnose or treat any sort of mental disorder. My focus is on attending to what is important and growing that rather than trying to fix a problem. I am trauma-informed and always strive to be attuned to diverse cultural backgrounds. I will focus on providing accountability, reflection, and curiosity that encourages you to grow.

I use a sliding fee scale in an effort to make sessions available to a wider range of people. Costs range from $120-160 per 1 hour session.

Psychotherapy is the treatment of mental illness with a trained professional. It usually looks like talking through issues that are affecting you with a therapist who provides guidance and support.
Coaching is much more broadly defined. My approach is similar to therapy in many ways, the primary difference being that I do not diagnose or treat mental illness. Coaching does not follow the medical model that underlies psychotherapy. It is not a substitute for therapy in the case of significant mental health concerns. If you are in need of mental health therapy, I will refer you to a licensed therapist.

Why Guiding Night?
The inspiration for the name Guiding Night comes from my favorite poem written from a prison cell in 16th century Spain by St. John of the Cross called The Dark Night.
This poem has inspired me to trust the darkness of my own life rather than run from it and is the perfect description of what I hope to support my clients in finding for themselves-the light that burns in your own heart
This is an excerpt from the poem.
In that happy night,
In secret, seen of none,
Seeing nought myself,
Without other light or guide
Save that which in my heart was burning.
That light guided me
More surely than the noonday sun
To the place where He was waiting for me,
Whom I knew well,
And where none appeared.
O, guiding night;
O, night more lovely than the dawn;
O, night that hast united
The lover with His beloved,
And changed her into her love.
